DIY Moose Silhouette

DIY Moose Silhouette

Today I want to share a fun little project that Nick made for the holidays. It’s quick and easy. And best of all, we had everything we needed to make it on hand, so it was free too!

To start, find an image you want to use as your stencil. We printed a moose head that we found online. Carefully, cut out the image using an X-Acto knife.

Next you will need a piece of wood to stencil on. We had a scrap piece of pine board (11 x 8) from a previous project laying around, so we decided to use that. We stained it grey (we used Minwax Wood Finish in Classic Grey) and let it dry.

Once the stain is dry, adhere the stencil in place. We didn’t have any stencil adhesive on hand, so we made due with tape. Cover the remaining exposed wood with newspaper and fill in the stencil using paint (we used ivory spray paint). Let the paint dry and carefully remove the stencil.

And you’re done! That’s all there is to it, quick and easy. I think we will make a similar design for Baby G’s nursery, maybe a cute little giraffe…

That's because our kitchen renovation is ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ต finished, and I just want to spend as much time as I can in the bright beautiful space we've created! It's so good, and we will finally be sharing it with you next week!
We're starting to think about transitioning Ella f We're starting to think about transitioning Ella from her nursery into a big girl bedroom. She'll be three in a few more months and she's eager to say goodbye to her crib, although I'm not sure if we're ready! ๐Ÿ˜ญ โฃ โฃ So I'm brainstorming ways to create a space for her that suits her spunky personality and will grow with her over the years. And while I'm at it Zoe's requested a little refresh to her bedroom too. It's been four years since we moved her from her nursery into her bedroom now and she's ready for a change too.

I am so glad we added miniature trees to the girls I am so glad we added miniature trees to the girls' bedrooms this year. They absolutely loved having their very own tree to decorate with their collection of ornaments and handmade treasures. It was a simple and inexpensive way to add an extra dose of holiday magic to their rooms, after all, there is nothing better than witnessing Christmas through the eyes of a child. They truly find such beauty and magic in even the smallest of details. ๐ŸŽ„
