Summer Printable & Vignette {Blog Hop}

Hi friends! I’m so excited to be teaming up with some of my favourite bloggers for a wonderful Summer Printable and Vignette Blog Hop hosted by my sweet friend, Kirsten, over at Ella Claire Inspired.

Summer Printable & Vignette

I’m all too eager to welcome summer into our home this year. The sunshine, warm breeze and lazy days are just what we need after our long, harsh winter.

Summer Printable & Vignette

During the winter I tend to keep things pretty neutral around our home, so once summer is on the horizon I add in pops of colour to freshen things up. Turquoise and green always make me feel energized and happy. I love incorporating the colours I see out our windows – the leafy green trees and the turquoise water of the bay – into our home.  You can always rely on Mother Nature’s palette.

This is a little nook in our kitchen I like to dress up for each season.

It currently serves as a little office space, somewhere to collect mail, pay bills and scribble out grocery lists.

When we moved into our home this was just a bare, empty space, so we got creative, did some rearranging and the mister built these beautiful shelves around our fridge. You can check out our full kitchen reno here.

To keep the kitchen feeling bright and airy I used a lot of whites and creams with pops of turquoise when decorating this space.

I always try to mix new items with antique finds to create a collected feel. I love the bargains you can find at big box stores, but adding in one-of-a-kind vintage pieces helps to create a unique look. They add personality and character, and usually come an an intriguing past! Like these small blue bottles, my dad found these when they were digging up their backyard for an addition years ago.

I created this printable with a soft water colour effect on the background, and a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that encompasses everything that summer should be about. You can download it here.

    How funny that we both chose the same quote! I kinda knew it would happen though… it's too perfect for summer! Love the simplicity and the colors of yours! Beautiful staging too Alicia!
