Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

Be thankful. Two simple words that hold so much importance.

Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

At some point in all of our lives, we are guilty of wanting more. There will always be someone that has a bigger home, a newer car or more expensive clothes than we do. It’s so easy to compare ourselves to others and get lost in the need to fulfill our materialistic wants. That’s why a simple reminder to be thankful is always welcome.

Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

As I start preparing our home for the fall season I look for simple ways to add warmth and rustic touches to each room. I began with our dining room this year. I wanted to add a few little hints of the coming season to this room, particularly to this rustic DIY industrial shelf my husband built for me earlier this year. We are currently using it as a picture ledge to display a few of our favourite photos from our wedding and the first few weeks of our daughter’s life.

Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

Every time I look at these photographs I am reminded of what I am thankful for. I have a caring and supportive husband and we were blessed this year with a beautiful and healthy daughter. I knew this would be the perfect place for a rustic fall printable.

Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

I designed this printable with the thought of being thankful in mind. It is something I try to remember often, especially during the fall season with the upcoming thanksgiving holiday.  I love the simplicity of this beautiful white script against the dusty chalkboard background, especially in this natural driftwood frame. It’s simple and classic.

Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

I layered in this beautiful DIY neutral fall wreath I created a few weeks ago for some added dimension. I love the way it encircles the photo of our daughter. I kept the oversized black lanterns on our sideboard, because who doesn’t love the warmth of glowing candles in the cool dark autumn evenings. I filled two simple white pitchers with faux lamb’s ear and dusty miller, left over from my DIY wreath. And I added some coziness by draping a gorgeous tartan throw over our daughter’s vintage highchair (I’ll be sharing how I transformed this garage sale find into a beautiful new heirloom for our family next week).

Be Thankful Printable and Fall Vignette

It’s the perfect fall vignette for our home. It subtle, simple and inviting. And I love how easy it will be to transition this space as the season progresses. I’ll be adding a few more noticeable fall accents, like pumpkins and gourds. And I can’t wait to play with more traditional fall colours this year. As a neutral girl at heart I tend to shy away from using a lot of colours in our home, but this year I am really drawn to the rich colours of autumn, particularly burnt orange, that remind me of the changing leaves.

Your home is so lovely, do you mind sharing where you got the tartan throw from? I'm looking for something similar for my dining room.

Thank you so much Amanda! The throw is from HomeSense (or HomeGoods if you are in the US). I have it in a rust colour as well. Perfect for the fall
