I’m sharing these sweet little chalkboard tags I created while envisioning a Classic Farmhouse Christmas. Last year I decorated using soft muted colours and metallics (you can see last year’s Christmas Tour here), so this year I decided to embrace a more traditional Christmas. I’ll be using lots of red and white, bunches of fresh greenery and a few subtle vintage touches to help evoke that farmhouse feel. You can see where I found my inspiration here.
I created four chalkboard tags, each with an endearing quote from a classic Christmas movie. I think they are so sweet, and such a special reminder of the magic of Christmas.
There are so many ways you can use these gift tags this holiday. They would look very sweet strung from a ribbon as garland, tied as handmade ornaments on your Christmas tree, and, of course, as gift tags. I chose to use these tags as part of my Christmas tablescape.
I set this pretty Christmas table using just a few simple pieces I already had on hand. I used this grain sack table runner I created from tea toweling I found at our local fabric store. I tore the covers off of some old books I had in the house and bundled them together using red and white twine. I wanted to add a little bit of colour and sparkle to the table, so I layered my collection of glass cloches down the centre and filled each one with red Christmas ornaments and the book bundles (perfect for adding some height). Then, I intertwined fresh pine boughs and boxwood clippings in between each cloche.
We love entertaining and I think it’s such a sweet gesture to leave your guests with a special little treat at the end of the evening. So each place setting got a small gift, wrapped in a simple kraft box, tied with twine and ribbon and topped with a fresh boxwood clipping and a chalkboard tag. I think this is the perfect way to show your guests how much they mean to you.

Oh my gosh, these great holiday tags came at such good time. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful tags, will be using them to make a garland to give and for tags also. Wonderful.
I'll be having shoulder replaced on Dec. 7th. so my time is flying by to get things made and ready to give also to decorate my own house after surgery. Hubs will be having to do that. Thanks again. Happy week
