Happy New Year, sweet friends…can you believe another year has come and gone? I find the older I get the faster time passes. Do you find that true, too? But I am always happy to welcome a new year. For me, it evokes a sense of restoration and reinvigoration. It feels like a fresh start and a new beginning, a time to re-evaluate and set goals and I love the feeling that with a new year anything is possible.

A bright and inviting dining room boasts simple farmhouse style with a DIY farmhouse dining table and classic window bench.

A large part of this feeling comes from looking back on the past year to learn from our successes and failures, both personally and professionally, in order to gauge how to move forward and make the most of the next 365 days.

A layered gallery wall adds interest and depth to this charming modern farmhouse living room.

At the beginning of each new year, we always take at look back to see which of our posts did really well, and which ones didn’t. It helps us to make sure we are sharing ideas and projects that you can relate to and enjoy. Plus, it’s a really fun way to see just what our readers loved most and recall the memories and adventures we had tackling some of our favorite projects.

I’m usually surprised at which posts rank in our top 10 for the previous year – they range from home tours, to project tutorials, to recipes and free printables.

After taking a look back at all of these posts, I’m reminded of just how far our home has come in the past year. It’s undergone a lot of changes and it definitely is more functional for our growing family. Not to mention, with each passing day (and new project) I love it more and more, as it begins to reflect our family and feel like our perfect home.

We have so many amazing projects and renovations planned for the new year, I’m just bursting at the seams to get started on all of them. We hope you’ll stick around for it…2017 is going to be a great year!
