Our Latest Endeavor | The DIY Hubs

We started our blog, A Burst of Beautiful, just over three years ago. And ever since, quite nervously, hitting publish on our very first post, we were hooked.

And even though blogs were considered mainstream when we began, it was still fairly new territory for us. There was a huge learning curve, however, we were lucky considering we had backgrounds in marketing and graphic design, not to mention my husband’s love for technology. So we started out on our journey as bloggers, not quite sure where it would lead us.

The path we have traveled has been enlightening, trying, rewarding, and most importantly fun! Blogging is not for the faint of heart, it’s a tough job that requires immense amounts of time, creativity and the ability to grow and change as the environment around us does the same. There are so many ups to downs to this career, but we love every aspect of it and the ongoing challenges it provides.

In fact, we love it so much it lead us to our latest endeavor – The DIY Hubs!

The DIY Hubs is Nick’s baby. It’s his own little space to share his unique perspective on our lives and he does a pretty good job of summing it up…

First, I had to decide on a name. “A Blast of Handsome” didn’t fly with Alicia. So after a lot of brainstorming and vetoed names, I settled on The DIY Hubs, and I think it perfectly represents me. This blog will feature more of the behind the scenes, simple projects, and other DIY and How-Tos for around your house. And as for recipes…more meat and potatoes kinds of recipes.

He loves to joke that he is a jack of all trades, master of none. Which I don’t quite agree with, I think he’s master quite a few.

@theDIYhubs

So, as we embark on our latest journey, we hope you’ll join us and have a few laughs along the way. Nick always has a humorous spin on the projects we tackle and I know you’ll fall in love with his storytelling. 🙂

Am I the only one that feels like our home is neve Am I the only one that feels like our home is never really finished, even after a big renovation? 🙋🏻‍♀️We shared our finished renovation a few months ago but we knew there would still be additions to make in the weeks and months ahead. I've added a few new pieces of decor and we installed a custom roman shade, but the biggest change we made was replacing our kitchen appliances. It's a big investment, but one that is worth it.We partnered with our friends at @frigidairecanada to update our existing appliances and today we are sharing all about it, from why we chose @frigidairecanada appliances again to the favourite features we're swooning over.
