Simple Spring Updates

Spring is just around the corner and I’ve got the urge to begin transitioning our home from winter to spring. For me, this means simple updates that give a subtle nod to the season ahead, like seasonal foliage, a colour palette that mimics mother nature, and a little dose of florals in an unexpected way.

Transitioning your home from season to season doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. It doesn’t mean big changes or purchases, it’s investing in pieces that adapt to each season while creating a home that feels fresh and new for the season ahead.

Later this week we will be sharing the changes we’ve made to our home as we prepare to welcome spring. In the meantime, these are a few easy spring updates you can add to your cart right now for an instant refresh.

1. Rattan Table Lamp – This beautiful rattan table lamp is the perfect way to add natural texture to any space in your home. I love the scalloped detail on the shade!

2. Picture Frames – Frame your favourite memory with these timeless brass picture frames. Their classic shapes and simple rounded feet add a touch of vintage-inspired charm.

3. Floral Pillow – This floral pillow cover comes in four beautiful shades and is a great way to introduce a subtle spring-inspired pattern to your home. They are a great designer dupe for an amazing price!

4. Stoneware Pitcher – Whether filled with seasonal blooms or perched on your kitchen shelves, this beautiful stoneware pitcher is a great find. I love its organic shape!

5. Vintage Grain Sack Pillow – Subtle and full of texture, this vintage grain sack pillow is a must-have for any season. It’s from one of my favourite shops, and I can vouch for the incredible quality!

6. Landscape Print – A cheerful vintage landscape print is such an easy and inexpensive way to add a seasonal touch to your home. My secret is printing these prints on canvas and framing them in a vintage frame (without the glass) for an authentic look.

7. Terracotta Vase – Created to mimic the texture and patina of a found artifact, this artisan handcrafted vase is an investment, but its large size and timeless shape make it a piece that will last forever.

8. Marble Cake Stand – The perfect piece for spring entertaining! It even looks beautiful on display when it’s not being used. I love displaying my cake stands in our dining room hutch or on kitchen shelves when we’re not using them.

9. Tapered Candle Sticks – Another entertaining essential, these tapered candles are such a fun and unique piece, and they come in three classic hues.

10. Wood Cutting Board – It’s hard to believe this mango wood cutting board isn’t a vintage breadboard, it’s the perfect way to add a touch of vintage-inspired charm to your kitchen. I love to layer different-sized breadboards together in our kitchen for a collected look.

11. Striped Napkins – You just can’t go wrong with stripes! These simple napkins will pair well with so many different patterns, like a beautiful block print tablecloth. I’m having a hard time choosing between navy and flax.

12. Artificial Tree – I’ve had my eye on this artificial citrus tree for a while now. It’s the perfect way to fill an empty corner and you can pop it into a large clay pot or a textured basket for a high-end look.

13. Marble Box – The colour and texture of this marble box are so good. It would look right at home perched on top of a few beautiful coffee table books on our coffee table.

14. Block Print Tablecloth – This botanical block print tablecloth is another fun way to introduce spring-inspired florals to your home along with the colours of the season. I think it would make the perfect backdrop to serve an Easter dinner.
