Our friends at @brevillecanada asked us to give their Barista Express unit a try and after several months of perfecting my espresso craft (several times a day), I have to say this is my favourite appliance in the house!Especially because coffee is what fuels us. With two little ones that never seem to stop, we find ourselves reaching for a cup of coffee whenever we need a caffeine fix. 👧🏻 👧🏻Now, there is a little bit of a learning curve to making espresso’s on an intermediate, semi-automatic machine like this, but if you love coffee, then you will love this process. It took me a few weeks to get the hang of it, but after that, it was smooth sailing to espresso town!I love an Americano every morning, while Alicia prefers an iced coffee. So we want to know from all of the coffee lovers out there, what's your favourite cup of coffee? ☕

We just celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada, and although we couldn't spend the holiday with all of our extended family and friends, it was still a wonderful weekend.And while our Thanksgiving has come and gone, we still wanted to share a bit of inspiration for everyone that will be celebrating next month. Boo! 👻 Halloween is only a few weeks away and while we know it's going to be different this year we're still excited to celebrate and have a bit of spooky fun!We welcomed October by adding a few new books to our Halloween collection. I love growing the girls' holiday book collection, and Halloween is no exception. There are so many beautiful books to choose from. I rounded up a few of our favourites this week and you can find them all on the blog. The Little Kitten is definitely a favourite!We've also had a bit of fun whipping up some sweet Halloween treats! Last year we made White Chocolate Halloween Popcorn and this year we added these adorable Monster Marshmallow Pops to the mix (swipe through to see the recipes). Last year I decorated our front porch with white mums and green, blue and white pumpkins (swipe to see little Ella a year ago!). This year, I‘ve decided to use more traditional fall colours, because I love the warmth it brings and I think the girls will love it! 🍁Have you decorated your porch for fall yet? Well, today was a productive day! Zoe headed off to her first day of senior kindergarten and Ella spent the day with her grandparents which meant I had the house to myself for 5 hours! ⁣ ⁣ I took advantage of the time to catch up on work commitments and get back into planning our next project. It's going to be an exciting one and I'll fill in once we've got everything sorted, but here's a hint...it has to do with our kitchen. ⁣ ⁣ So make sure you stay tuned because we will be sharing all of the details soon!

Today was cool and grey and it reminded me that fall is on its way. Which got me thinking about a few changes I want to make in our home this season, like maybe adding a new pillow or two to our sofa. 🤔

Ella had a tough morning today, she had her first

Ella had a tough morning today, she had her first check-up with the dentist. 🦷 She didn't quite understand why we were there and I could tell she was nervous. So, after our quick visit, we returned home and as soon as we pulled into our laneway she let out a little shout and said "Yay! Home!".It reminded me that even though she is young, she knows our home is a source of comfort for her. And that feeling of security and happiness is what we always hope to create in for our girls in our home.
